Chavan wants VAT, NA exemption for MIHAN project

Chief Minister Ashok Chavan has asked his officials to draft a proposal of VAT and non-agricultural land exemption for the MIHAN project to be brought before the state cabinet for approval.

The composite project called ‘Multi-Nodal International Passenger and Cargo Hub Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN) entails developing the existing domestic airport of Nagpur as an international passenger and cargo hub airport, along with a multi-product Special Economic Zone, on the boundary of the airport.

In a meeting with senior officials of the MIHAN and Gosikhurd national irrigation project Chavan issued the directive. It was also decided that the project affected people from MIHAN will be given additional urban facilities over the 18 services mandated under the PAP Act.

The total project area required for MIHAN is 4354 hectares, of which 3293 hectares of land is in possession of Maharashtra Airport Development Company.
