Bharti Retail to go pan India soon

Bharti Retail, owned by Sunil Mittal, has chalked out plans to roll out stores in South India soon, as part of its expansion plans to become a national retailer.

Bharti Retail had already signed three-four properties in the southern states and will book spaces for around 50 stores by the year end.

The retailer is also scouting for properties and Western and Central India to open stores and is in talks with property developers in this regard. The chain has hired a dozen persons to scout and book the properties.

Bharti Walmart, the joint venture between Bharti Enterprises and Walmart, the world’s largest retailer, is also expected to open cash and carry stores in the South in the next 12-24 months.
