US pharma major Hospira to start plant in Vizag SEZ

Hospira Inc, a US-based pharmaceutical firm, was allocated 46 acres for a new plant at the Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma City (JNPC), which is an upcoming special economic zone near Visakhapatnam.

Dr K. Rosaiah, Chief Minister, Andhra Pradesh handed over the land allotment letter to Joe Cramer, Vice President, Global Operations of Hospira, and Dr G.B. Rao, Managing Director, Indian Operations in the presence of Ayodhya Rami Reddy, Chairman, Ramky Group, and Dr P.P. Lal Krishna, head, JNPC.

Ramky Pharma City (India) Ltd, a special purpose vehicle formed by Ramky Infrastructure Ltd and APIIC is developing the 2,143-acre pharma city.
